This local equivalent of a country song in the West is sung in the local language Luganda and is very popular with the Luganda speaking population. The song is titled “Omwoyo Gweka” which means “The Soul for my Roots”. It’s about a familiar African problem: People leaving their villages to go to the city where they get detached from their roots and culture.
